A Beginning/ of oil and the simple answer

Okay, this is my first blog. I thought it might be fun to have a blog to express my opinion, since I have an opinion on just about everything. I have a lot on my mind, and very little mind to spare, so I think it best to unload some of what is in it.

Gas is up to around $3.629. There's another topic for later, what is the .009 about? The price of oil is going to continue to rise. Our government has let us down here. I am a conservative, but am about to disavow myself from the Republican party (that is another 37 topics to write about.) My general felling is that the Republicans are a bunch of wimps. Someone needs to step up with the obvious. We need more oil. The way to have more oil is to go get it. If that sounds over simplistic, it is because I believe the time is now for a simple solution.

The democrats, of course, blame everything on the Republicans. The truth is that our energy crisis is their fault. Anybody who refuses to accept that really has their head in the ground. The democrats cater to the extremists in their party, and bend to the environmental wackoes. Their is a lot of oil out their to be drilled, but we can't touch it because we might disturb the precious caribou. They don't need the oil. Without opposable thumbs, they can't drive. It is good for us to be responsible stewards of the environment. But we have the resources to alleviate a problem that is effecting many people and hurting our economy. The time is now to start oil exploration and to begin constructing new refineries.

I believe that if we started even heading in that direction, OPEC would drastically reduce the price of oil, because let us be honest, it is our business that is making them rich. We could have energy independence in a matter of a few years if someone would step up and lead us in that direction. Unfortunately the government elected by the people, for the people, are only for themselves. They cater to special interests groups, or are to worried about ramifications to their chances of being reelected. Meanwhile the lowly and unimportant common people that were dumb enough to elect them find it harder and harder to make it while paying what will soon be $4 a gallon for gas, most of which is going to rich people in countries that hate us (but that is a whole other topic.)
